VACUUM BLOOD COLLECTION TUBES: DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATIONS IN MODERN MEDICINE

1. Study Summary: “Vacuum Blood Collection Tubes: Development and Applications in Modern Medicine”

Abstract
Objective: To provide an overview of the development, characteristics, advantages, and challenges of vacuum blood collection tubes in clinical laboratory testing compared to traditional blood collection methods.

Methods: The study searched the PubMed database from 2013 to 2024 using keywords such as “vacuum blood collection tubes,” “preanalytical errors,” “hemolysis,” and “sample quality.” Selection criteria included studies focusing on sample quality, preanalytical factors, and solutions to reduce hemolysis.

Results: Vacuum blood collection tubes significantly improved sample quality, efficiency, and safety compared to traditional blood collection methods. Hemolysis remains the main challenge, especially in emergency departments (with rates up to 35%) and pediatric samples. Using smaller volume tubes (2 mL instead of 6 mL) reduced hemolysis rates from 11.8% to 2.9%. Appropriate tube selection, proper sampling techniques, and staff training are crucial factors affecting sample quality.

Conclusion: Vacuum blood collection tubes offer significant benefits in reducing preanalytical errors, improving safety, and enhancing cost-effectiveness. Current trends focus on developing specialized tubes for specific patient groups and integrating them with automated systems.

2. VATRACY VACUUM BLOOD COLLECTION TUBES – THE LEADING SOLUTION FOR BLOOD TESTING

Based on the research findings, vacuum blood collection tubes are becoming the new standard in clinical laboratory testing thanks to their high accuracy, safety, and convenience compared to traditional blood collection methods.

To meet the growing demands of the market, WEMBLEY MEDICAL has invested in technology to become the first manufacturer of vacuum blood collection tubes in Vietnam. The VATRACY vacuum blood collection tube is designed to deliver highly accurate test results while minimizing risks during blood collection procedures. The tube simplifies sampling techniques, providing a comfortable experience for patients and ensuring maximum safety for healthcare workers.

Outstanding features of VATRACY vacuum blood collection tubes include:

  • High-quality materials: Tubes are made from PET or PET+PP for excellent seal integrity; PE caps and elastic rubber stoppers ensure smooth needle penetration.

  • Sterilized by irradiation technology: Assembled in a class 100.000 cleanroom, tubes are sterilized by irradiation, effectively eliminating bacteria without compromising the quality of internal reagents.

  • Sample protection: Leak-proof design prevents hemolysis during transportation and minimizes external factors affecting test results.

  • Comfortable sampling experience: Reduces pain, shortens sampling time, and prevents accidents like needle sticks or sample spills, ensuring maximum safety for healthcare professionals.

VATRACY vacuum blood collection tubes are manufactured under strict quality control in compliance with international standards:

  • ISO 13485:2016

  • ISO 9001:2015

  • ISO 14001:2015

  • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

  • CE Marking (European Conformity)

  • Certificates of Free Sale (CFS) for the UK and Spain

These products are trusted and widely used by leading hospitals and diagnostic centers in Vietnam, such as Bach Mai Hospital, University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City, Tam Anh General Hospital, Diag Laboratory Center, Nipro Vietnam, and more.
