Professor Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, highlighted the importance of information technology and digital transformation in healthcare for disease control and socio-economic progress. The Northern Regional Healthcare Digital Transformation Conference was held in Vinh City, Nghe An, showcasing the successful partnership between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Public Security, and IT companies.
Information technology applications have played a crucial role in supporting the fight against COVID-19. These tasks encompass the management of health declarations, testing, case management, patient treatment, and medical oxygen logistics. Impressive accomplishments include successfully implementing the COVID-19 vaccination management platform, telemedicine systems in more than 1,000 healthcare facilities, and remote consultation applications.
Nevertheless, there are still obstacles to overcome, including certain areas that have not prioritized IT applications and digital transformation in healthcare, along with concerns regarding IT infrastructure and human resources. The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of policy refinement, drafting decrees for health data management, and implementing solutions to enhance the Ministry of Health's digital transformation index.
The conference also emphasized proposed amendments to regulations and explored solutions for Telehealth, digital healthcare, establishing health data warehouses, and utilizing artificial intelligence for health data analysis. Nghe An has made significant progress in adopting digital signatures and electronic documents, implementing shared services, and expediting digital transformation. These efforts are directed toward establishing a modernized government, fostering a thriving digital economy, and creating a digitally connected society.
